Department: Programs AreaLocation: Rome (one day a week of smart-working)Supervisor: Head of Operations and ProgrammesCompensation: Based on experience.Job Description ICU is looking for a Designer/Grant Writer to support the programs department. The figure deals with the development, definition, drafting, negotiation and sending of project proposals in response to calls for proposals from institutional donors such as the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the European Union (INTERREG-NEXT MED, EuropeAid, Italy-Tunisia, PRIMA etc.), private foundations and United Nations agencies (OCHA, WFP, UNDP etc.) in the sectors of Agriculture, Sustainable Energy, Water, Waste, Rural and Business Development, Education, Health and Protection.
Responsibilities Prepare, implement and coordinate preparatory actions for the development of the project proposal (focus group, needs assessment, problem/objective tree etc.);Collaborate with the staff of the programs and Missions area in managing relations with stakeholders, beneficiaries and partners, in identifying and developing project ideas and contents;Negotiate budgets with the identified partners, plan and coordinate their support regarding the contents of the proposal;Set priorities, internal deadlines for writing and reviewing, objectives for information gathering;Prepare administrative/documentary checklist and action plan for the project formulation phase;Process funding requests and correctly prepare the documentation accompanying the request (including the logical framework, budget, administrative documents and any other required attachments) ensuring compliance with the donor's guidelines and compliance with the deadline;Submit the project proposal in compliance with the deadlines.Minimum 3 years' experience in writing projects on international cooperation programs;Excellent knowledge of calls for proposals and guidelines of the main international donors (AICS-EU-UN);In-depth knowledge of project writing methodologies (RBM, Project Cycle Management, Logical Framework);Excellent knowledge of English and Italian, written and oral;Excellent knowledge of the Office package;Proven ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including local institutions and civil society associations;Familiarity with the main online communication platforms (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom).High capacity for planning, analysis and definition and management of priorities and deadlines;Dynamism and ability to work proactively and autonomously.Preferred Requirements Previous experience in writing PRIMA/INTERREG projects;Knowledge of French and/or Spanish;Knowledge or background in NEXUS issues;How to apply: Use the "Apply for the position" button and attach the following documents only if you meet the essential requirements:
