ROLE SUMMARY:Inspired Group is seeking to appoint an experienced Primary Years Programme Coordinator to support inquiry based learning at the International School of Siena, Italy in August 2024. Applicants must have experience of teaching within the IBPYP, have a strong background in Reggio-Inspired teaching and learning and PYP assessment strategies.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher-leader with experience of enabling students and teachers to achieve their potential. We are looking for experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching and teacher training, to inspire our students with a love of learning and to lead our teachers in the development of IB pedagogical teaching methodologies. They need to be a team player that can work within a small but busy school, collaborating with teachers to support the development of a rigorous inquiry based curriculum with strong assessment practices. This is a 40% release role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Foster a positive school community by implementing the IS Siena Positive Behaviour Policy and pastoral programme.Lead PYP teaching and learning for Early Years and Grades 2–6.Support trips, assemblies, events, and the PYP Exhibition.Assist the librarian and EAL/LS teams with teacher training and individual student support.Collaborate with DP and MYP Coordinators to ensure a cohesive KG–13 curriculum.Work with Programme Coordinators, SLT, and Admissions to manage pre-assessments and student placements.Participate in professional development and contribute to school growth.Offer an extracurricular activity to expand current offerings.IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:A university degree in a related field and a relevant teaching qualification.Recent PYP teaching experience.Membership in the IB Educators Network (e.g., workshop leader, examiner, or evaluator).Passion for learning with the ability to engage students of all abilities.Familiarity with PYP assessment, CAT4 testing, and data tracking (desirable).Strong IB pedagogy and experience in inquiry and concept-based learning.Understanding of personalised learning in an inclusive and international early years setting.Willingness to commit long-term, with an initial 12-month contract and potential for permanency.APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:Applicants must have Qualified Teacher Status and either an EU passport or a valid visa to work in Italy.
