ROLE SUMMARY: We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspirational IB PYP coordinator to join our team from September 2025.
The International School of Monza is situated in the heart of the city and is in the ideal vicinity of buzzing Milan, the beautiful Italian lakes and world-renowned ski resorts.
We welcome approximately 340 students of nearly 40 nationalities, from ages 2.5 to 18.
An International Baccalaureate continuum school, we strive to deliver the IB programmes in their purest form, embodying our core values and the IB's Learner Profile in everything that we do.
Applicants will be highly qualified, fluent in English and be committed to supporting the academic and personal development of all young people.
In addition, whilst IB experience is not essential, candidates should be committed to developing experiential learning through inquiry and be able to teach at both MYP (Middle Year Programme) and DP (Diploma Programme) levels.

Department Overview: The department takes an inquiry approach to teaching and learning.
It ensures that the approaches to teaching and learning and the ethos of the International Baccalaureate are embodied.
IS Monza is an International Baccalaureate continuum school offering PYP, MYP and DP and is a candidate school for the IBCP with anticipated first teaching September 2025.
Job Purpose: The successful candidate will uphold and actively promote the Principles and Values of the International School of Monza and contribute fully to the ethos and wider life of our community.
The PYP Coordinator is a key member of the extended SLT at IS Monza and will report directly to the Head of Primary.
They have full responsibility for the delivery of the PYP and will have a particular focus on the development of inquiry and approaches to teaching and learning.
They will promote and inspire an ethos of continuous innovation in methodologies for learning, teaching and assessment.
These will be respectful of the standards and practices of the IB whilst also seeking to ensure that IS Monza remains ahead of the curve in providing meaningful learning and assessment for today's world.
In doing so, the post holder works in close collaboration with the entire SLT to achieve buy-in for all curriculum, learning and teaching innovations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership Foster a positive school community.
Lead PYP teaching in Early Years and Grades 2–6, embedding IB and Inspired best practices.
Deliver PYP lessons as a role model.
Support students' social and emotional wellbeing in EY–6.
Contribute to SLT decisions on PD, assessment, staffing, and timetabling.
Mentor teachers and support school events like trips and the PYP Exhibition.
Collaborate with staff to address individual student needs and ensure vertical curriculum alignment.
Partner with Admissions for pre-assessment and placement of new students.
Engage in professional development and promote the PYP through parent workshops, newsletters, and community events.
Teaching and Other Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences for primary students.
Teach a primary class, focusing on their wellbeing, care, and academic progress.
Build relationships with pupils and parents through strong interpersonal skills.
Assess and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
Stay updated with IB-aligned subject knowledge and teaching methods.
Differentiate lessons to meet diverse pupil needs, including support for additional learning and language acquisition.
Promote positive behaviour and contribute to school improvement through curriculum review and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Create engaging classroom displays and support school-wide events and extracurricular activities.
Represent the school positively and undertake other duties as assigned by leadership.

Ability to teach a second subject.
Experience presenting to a variety of year groups.
IB Teacher, Marker, or Educator experience.
Participation in extra-curricular activities and trips.
Understanding of safety standards and risk management in experiments.
Knowledge of emerging teaching technologies.
Up-to-date on professional developments in Science.
Proven ability to create a positive ethos.
