Linum Consult is working with an international main contractor to identify a suitable HSE Manager to start work as soon as possible on the construction of a major data centre in Milan, Italy. RESPONSIBILITIES Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards Carrying out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented Ensuring working practices are safe and comply with legislation Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policies Leading the in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that recommend improvements Recording incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers Keeping up to date with any new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation, including any developments that affect the company's industry Producing management reports, newsletters, and bulletins Ensuring equipment is installed safely (scaffolding, etc.) Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases PROFILE Degree qualification in Environmental Management or equivalent At least 8 years' experience as a site-based Health & Safety Officer Certifications and/or experience of Working at Height, and scaffolding construction, including validating and inspecting harnesses Any experience on large, industrial construction projects would be highly preferred Excellent communication skills with colleagues of all levels and disciplines, with a proactive and assertive attitude Strong knowledge and understanding of the Product liability law and HS&E legislative requirements appropriate to the company's business activities Experience in maintaining HSE management systems: ISO 14001: 2004, OSHAS 18001: 2007 compliant Fluent in spoken and written English and Italian APPLICATION PROCESS If you fulfil all of the key criteria for this position, then please formally submit your CV along with your current financial package details now for the attention of Frederick Thugniot at europelinumconsult.com J-18808-Ljbffr
