Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of HRIS & Data, the HRIS Analyst, Level 2 will be responsible for the administrative oversight and enhancement of the University ERP (Banner) to ensure the department's compliance with the University's data procedures, and to improve data accuracy and integrity. This role performs regular, ad-hoc, and audit reporting, and uses resulting data analysis which drives the department's future strategy to improve HR services to the community.
Duties and Responsibilities: HRIS ADMINISTRATION & MAINTENANCE:Serve HR, payroll, and University IT departments as the subject matter expert in HRIS staff and student employee and job record management.Enforce HR policy and HR data procedures, creating formal recommendations for policy and procedure updates considering evolving technologies and the transforming University landscape.Manage E-PAF configuration and administration; manual PAF administration.Perform ERP access management in partnership with UNIT (courtesy cards), security privilege management in Banner.Lead troubleshooting between payroll specialist and HRIS to coordinate collaborative solutions to logistical pay challenges.Serve as HRIS representative to University-wide Banner Coordination meeting, liaising between HR and other departments using Banner to understand the impacts of enterprise system upgrades to HRIS administration.Support HRIS Analyst Level 1 (primary contact for HRIS user support) by serving as escalation contact for troubleshooting system issues and providing technical assistance to end users.DATA MANAGEMENT & REPORTING:Build and generate routine and ad-hoc reports, queries, and dashboards to respond to audit requests and HR business needs.Build and generate data audit reports, performing data validation checks to ensure the integrity and compliance of employee data.Create reports and synthesize data across all HRIS systems to generate information on employment trends, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform senior management strategy.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements; design reports and present interpreted data as requested.PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & OPTIMIZATION:Perform regular review of cross-system HR data life cycle (including but not limited to employee data creation in the Applicant Tracking System to Banner E-PAF termination) and identify opportunities to streamline HR and HRIS processes through system automation, workflow enhancements, and process standardization.Research and propose Banner enhancements and improvements based on industry best practices and emerging technologies.Configure, test, and document E-PAFs for remaining manual personnel action items; facilitate University transition to full E-PAF functionality.With support of Senior Director of HRIS & Data develop cross-functional teams across HR Centers of Excellence, payroll, and University IT to gather requirements and implement technical and/or functional solutions that provide automation and further HR strategy. Engage the UNIT PMO if necessary.Consult on the Banner Coordination Team in the configuration of system enhancements; responsible for testing and implementing enhancements, such as utilization of new screens or functionality, or version updates to existing modules.TRAINING & DOCUMENTATION:Develop, deliver, and update online training materials, guides, and documentation to educate HR staff and community end users on HRIS functional and technical processes, systems, and best practices.Conduct live training sessions for new functionality go-lives, and regularly scheduled workshops to ensure HR and community user understanding of HRIS processes and systems.PART IV: NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Less Critical Duties etc.)Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education:Bachelor's degree or the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position required.Specific Job Knowledge:Solid understanding of the Human Resources functions. Strong skills in MS Office; HRIS report writing experience.Demonstrated ability to create written and graphic materials. May be requested to produce original written or visual materials as a sample.Minimum Work Experience:2-4 years of previous data management or HRIS experience required.Work Skills:Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, HRIS systems, Reporting BI tools.Excellent organizational skills required and attention to detail a must. Excellent interpersonal skills desired, and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and ability to meet deadlines regularly.
