You will develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact, reduce waste, and promote sustainable practices.
You will work closely with various departments within the Hotel, identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, conserve resources, and decrease the overall carbon footprint.By integrating sustainable practices into our organization's operations, as a sustainability Manager you will contribute to a more eco-conscious and socially responsible business approach, aligning the organization with broader global sustainability goals.Duties ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all daily maintenance issues within the hotel in collaboration with all departments.Assists Chief Engineer with daily maintenance tasks.Oversees and manages the timely completion of routine maintenance activities and the effective resolution of daily maintenance problems in compliance with the standards imposed by the Hotel.Perform daily checks around the hotel in accordance with the Health and Safety requirements: heating system, air-conditioning system, water system, electrical generator, any hotel vehicles.Perform daily checks around the hotel to ensure the correct functioning of TV system, Wi-Fi connection, Telephone system, etc.Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel.Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise.Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs: fire fighting system, water system, electricity generator, etc.Develop, implement and manage energy and water conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses.Develop, implement and manage a preventative maintenance program, taking into consideration heavy machinery, air conditioning, daily routines and specialized equipment.Manages and assesses the work completed by the maintenance team external technical contractors to ensure that the work provided meets the quality standards required.Conduct Guest room checks weekly to identify any maintenance issues in collaboration with Housekeeping and Front Office.Carries out regular inspections and maintenance of all staff areas (which includes the dining, accommodation, entertainment areas).Carries out regular inspections and maintenance of all public areas.Carries out regular inspections and maintenance of the warehouse in accordance with the Health and Safety requirements.Reports any maintenance or property issues, any loss or damage to guest or company property to management.Attends daily meetings with other HOD's and promptly shares important and relevant information with his colleagues based on the relevant areas.Conducts a daily briefing with the Maintenance team and allocate/schedule all duties and tasks to be carried out on the day.Ensures that all water systems are treated in order to prevent corrosion throughout the system.Keeps an adequate inventory of spare parts, tools and supplies at all times.Keeps appropriate standards of conduct, uniform and appearance.Ensures that fat traps, drains, and plumbing works are not blocked and in good working order.Ensures that storerooms, pump rooms, generator rooms and other maintenance areas are kept clean and tidy.Collaborate with Pool Supervisors for the pool maintenance and cleaning.
Ensure that the correct chemical dosage methods are followed.Developing Sustainability Strategies: responsible for creating and implementing sustainability strategies tailored to the organization's goals.
They identify areas for improvement, set measurable targets, and develop plans to enhance environmental, social, and economic sustainability.Environmental Management: to focus on minimizing the organization's environmental impact.
They oversee initiatives to reduce energy and water consumption, manage waste, and promote the use of renewable resources.
This involves implementing energy-efficient technologies, waste reduction programs, and eco-friendly practices.Compliance and Reporting: to ensure the organization complies with environmental regulations and standards.
They also prepare sustainability reports, detailing the organization's performance in areas such as greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and waste management.Stakeholder Engagement: To engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and communities.
Raise awareness about sustainability initiatives, gather input, and foster collaboration to enhance the organization's social and environmental impact.RequirementsMinimum 2 – 4 years' experience in similar field/role at a senior staff or supervisor level.Relevant technical qualifications.Previous experience in a luxury hospitality environment is required.General knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, IT, Sustainability and related trades.Proven technical ability and appropriate skills applicable to the job function.Working knowledge and understanding of basic vehicle maintenance, generators, pumps, air-conditioning, refrigeration and solar plants.Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.Ability to work under pressure.Positive, can-do attitude.BenefitsSeasonal contract according to Italian law "C.C.N.L.
