About The Role Senior professional responsible for advising a client on health & safety issues relating to large construction projects, from project initiation to completion.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project; Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor; Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site; Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing and maintaining our relationship; Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client's requirement; Managing the client's health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service; Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction-related health and safety standards, regulations and legislations; Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work; Cooperating with others involved with the project; Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors; Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work; Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client – this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site; Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realise their full potential; Preparing bids for services; Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance; As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to: Opportunities to develop and grow your career Employee Assistance Programme Flexible working arrangements About You Who we're looking for: Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Sound construction-related health and safety management experience as an owner representative / consultant.
Experience in industrial construction projects or data centres construction projects with similar job function.
Experience in delivering services on a live construction site in France.
Sound knowledge of construction-related national (French) health and safety regulations and standards, as well as international best practices.
Cohesive knowledge of construction methods.
Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction.
Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.
Proficiency in English.
