HEAD OF UNDERWRITING AGCS - FINANCIAL LINESJOB PURPOSE/ROLE Based in Milan and reporting directly to the Head of Underwriting & TEX and the Regional Managing Director for Southern Europe region of Allianz Commercial, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Financial Lines and Cyber & PI Tech business into the Region.
With strong ties to the Chief Underwriting Office, as well as directly with the Head of Underwriting & TEX of Allianz Commercial, you will also support the FL global and regional strategy to ensure the successful achievement of Allianz Commercial targets. You will be the contact person for brokers and clients working with the Financial Lines team, jointly with the Distribution team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Financial Lines and Cyber & PI Tech strategy across the Region which includes Turkey, Greece & Cyprus: ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.Support the Financial Lines and Cyber & PI Tech strategy to prepare and manage any budget and/or targets within the plan.Steer and control the Financial Lines and Cyber & PI Tech portfolio to drive the achievement of financial targets.Drive underwriting planning process and monitor adherence to plan, taking corrective action as necessary.Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle.Work closely with Distribution, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.Ensure underwriting consistency and discipline, adhering to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules, and local regulatory framework.Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products.Maintain executive contacts and accompany the Underwriting of all core or strategic accounts.Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary).Manage and coordinate Financial Lines and Cyber & PI Tech local underwriting team, including people management within the hierarchy framework in the AGCS legal entity.Coordinate with local Distribution team to drive successful execution of strategic plan.Communicate local business strategy externally.Represent Allianz Commercial internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market.Involve Distribution, Risk Consulting and Claims in Underwriting process.KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Master's Degree in Law or Business Administration.Strong experience (min. 7 years) in underwriting profitable Financial Lines business for corporate clients, including Financial Institutions.Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills.Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings.Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects.People management and team management skills.Strong communication skills and open cultural mindset to work with different countries of the Region.Able to work in an international matrix organization.Fluent in Italian and English, written and spoken.Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
