The Role: Head of Marketing Southern Europe: Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece The Marketing Team is pivotal to driving revenue delivery for the business.
The Head of Marketing Southern Europe will lead a team of 4-5 people across 4 markets, managing a budget of approx.
€10m in media spend.
You will own the development of marketing strategy and the implementation plan for those markets supported by our central services such as planning, partnerships, media consultancy, brand and creative as well as a dedicated in-house creative studio.
Your team will align closely with our Northern European marketing team, the UK, and easyJet Holidays marketing plus Digital, Commercial and key agency and supplier partners.
You will also work directly with an in-market creative agency to develop locally nuanced creative campaigns.
Your team will lead a cross-functional effort to ensure a powerful and joined-up customer approach (between creative, media, digital, CRM, social, partnerships, promotions, PR and CX) and manage the creative development and implementation of all IT/PT/ES campaigns (such as trading moments, sales, seat releases and managing third-party partnerships with tourist boards and airports) and testing GR too.
What you'll be doing: Develop an insights-based Marketing Strategy for each of your 4 markets based on solid insight (understanding of customer, competitor and category behaviours) with clear focus areas for brand and acquisition growth and measurable KPI's.
Develop and own the market customer calendar that is based on customer need and key calendar moments and provides clarity on customer-facing activity to cross-functional stakeholders.
Be accountable for the marketing delivered revenue for IT/PT/ES/GR.
Be the marketing representation on the trading team leading the charge to identify trading gaps and building plans which pull on marketing levers such as CRM, media, merchandising, promotions etc to bridge the gap alongside analytics, merchandising and CRO colleagues.
Own the media budget to optimise ROI and drive media efficiencies (this includes the approach to the acquisition of new customers).
Work with the media team to create a test and learn roadmap for each market which evidences the incrementality of the activity and the acquisition of net new customers.
Own the creative output for your markets, covering key brand activity and as well as calendar and promotional moments (e.g.
Sales).
Local creative is required to ensure ongoing trading, partnerships (e.g.
tourist boards) and all local initiatives are brought to life in a way that resonates strongly with the customer.
Develop and grow existing partnerships (e.g.
tourist boards, 3rd party consumer brands) that drive further acquisition for the easyJet brand and can amplify existing activity.
CRM: Be able to put in place contact strategies to drive customer to repeat purchase via destination inspiration and retail offers.
Own and develop the market trading and promotion calendar – working with pricing and network to ensure your calendar is aligned with market insight.
Requirements of the Role What you will need to be to do the role: 10-15 years' experience gained leading the marketing of a large consumer brand.
Fluent Italian and English speaking with Spanish or Portuguese an advantage.
An inspirational leader who can lead both direct reports and diverse cross-functional teams.
Strong media understanding and experience of all media types including on and offline.
Experience of managing a multi-million euro marketing budget.
Experience working with econometrics and attribution models to optimise the media budget and deliver efficiencies.
Outstanding creative judgement - able to sweat the assets of centrally provided assets, whilst also understanding the need for developing locally nuanced activity.
Broad experience and understanding of indirect areas that form our marketing activity - CRM, digital, PR, internal comms, social, promotions, partnerships.
Solid experience turning customer insights into strategy.
Understanding of brand health, CSAT and purchase drivers.
Analytical, with a solid commercial understanding and experienced in working and collaborating with trading teams.
Ability to deliver results through initiative, creativity & self-motivation.
Adept at building relationships and influencing outcomes and your priorities with Operations, PR, Commercial, Country Managers, Digital.
Flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.
