Your role: We're looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to join our Finance Team in Bologna.
The role will report directly to our Global CFO, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, and complying with standards and regulations as well as managing a team, always with an eye to continuous improvement of existing internal processes.
Your tasks and responsibilities: Oversee the accounting department and manage a team of accountants.
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring account accuracy as well as month-end and year-end close processes.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
Manage collections and ensure timely payment receipts.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and other regulations.
Manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, including tax laws, and manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and banks.
Oversee treasury daily operations.
Manage cash flow, including forecasting, budgeting, and the development of financial models.
Background and key competencies: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, with previous experience in people management, preferably in a Global fast – paced organization.
Knowledge of the fashion industry and retail would be considered as a plus.
Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP or IFRS, and experience with financial reporting and compliance Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERPs.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Hands on approach, ability to think out of the box and an eye for process improvement.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
