Job PurposePatient Advocacy (PA) Strategy and Organization: Develops an industry-leading and highly impactful Global Patient Advocacy Strategy and Organization overseeing the implementation for all patient related matters across Recordati, in close collaboration with regional / affiliates patient advocacy leads, as appropriate.Patient Advocacy in R&D and Medical Affairs: Ensures the development and implementation of strategies to drive the inclusion of the patient perspective across R&D and Medical Affairs, including research priority setting, design and planning, access, and commercialization.
Partner across the organization with local Patient advocacy personnel at regional/country level, as appropriate, to provide patient insights that bring value to organizational decision-making.Affiliate Strategy and Plans: Supervises PA Affiliate strategy and oversees and support the implementation local plans; serves as the central point of contact and support for Regions and Affiliates to orchestrate their interactions, including future trends scouting and capability building in PA.External Strategic Partnerships and company reputation: In collaboration with local PA, leads and supports the creation of trusted and meaningful relationships with external Patient Groups that lead to co-creation of solutions and strategic insights that shape portfolio decisions across the entire lifecycle of products.Anticipates key changes and trends: In patient engagement in healthcare and leads the development of the strategic roadmap and key core capabilities to enable a fit for the future patient-centric strategy and solutions.Oversees the definition of standards, processes, guidelines, and tools: To accomplish the Patient Partnership capabilities, and ensures PA plans are performed in a compliant and strategic manner across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesDefines the Patient Advocacy strategy, anticipates and identifies business needs and defines PA priorities in close collaboration with regional/affiliates PA leads and other internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate.Oversees the development of the governance and roadmap in the core areas of PA in collaboration with other functions/ organizations.Shapes the external environment in relation to key strategic areas of focus.Oversees and supports the PA programs/plans.Leads the definition of PA success metrics, value reports and processes to measure the effectiveness of PA programs across Recordati.Acts as spokesperson for PA in external patient related alliances.Identifies required PA competency (i.e.
advocacy, access, policy, data science, communications) and options of scaling in the strategic view of future Patient landscape development.Ensures strategic and efficient communication and working relationships with internal partners and external patient communities and partners.Oversees key external collaborations in the PA space to advance the patient-inclusive organization.Works with Governance body, Regulatory, Legal, Safety and Compliance to assess gaps and needs on business and compliance processes across the organization and affiliates.Is responsible for acting in line with legal, regulatory and company standards and codes of practice.Required EducationBachelor's degree in science or related fields.
Required Skills and ExperienceSignificant professional experience (at least 10 years) in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry.
Leadership roles in positions related to PA.Significant experience with all aspects of PA core capabilities, and other medical affairs activities and patient/patient groups interactions.Strong experience in leading teams cross-functionally.Experience in successfully managing internal and external partners.
Strong interpersonal and partnering skills.Solid scientific knowledge.Required LanguagesFluency in written and spoken English.
