Background information : The Google Cloud Engineering Consultant will provide Google Cloud architecture and operations expertise within the Cloud Operations and Platform Service Unit (OPDA).
The Cloud Solutions team provides both project and ongoing services and is geographically distributed among UNICC locations, mainly in Europe.
Main duties and responsibilities : The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Cloud Operations and Platform Service Unit (OPDA).
The incumbent will perform the following duties : Under guidance of the Head, OPDA, and in collaboration with other OPDA team members, support on the creation and ongoing development of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Landing ZoneFollowing the Unit's best practices, design, build, and implement scalable GCP solutions, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools to ensure consistency and efficiencyContribute to the development and enhancement of GCP services by designing and implementing new service featuresEnsure that all GCP solutions are aligned with UNICC Compliance and security standardsIn collaboration with other OPDA team members, support GCP FinOps practices to manage costs, optimize resource usage, and enable chargeback for multi-client operationsIn collaboration with the Cloud Solutions team, drive GCP business growth for OPDA and work to understand the clients' needs and design the required technical cloud solutions based on themPrepare technical documentation and related procedure guidelinesQualifications Experience and Skills required : Essential : Five (5) or more years of relevant IT experience, including significant experience supporting Google cloud servicesProficiency in application modernization techniques, including containerization, APIs, and microservices, to help modernize and scale applications on GCPExpertise in automation tools such as Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools like Ansible for consistent, automated deploymentsHands-on experience with migration processes, including discovery, profiling, migration, and operations, leveraging appropriate technologies and automation tools for cloud transitionsSolid understanding of ITIL service management practices and methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry standards for service delivery and supportDesirable : Experience with multi-cloud environments, including AWS or Azure, with a strong understanding of their respective architectures and servicesFamiliarity with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices, leveraging tools like Bitbucket or GitLab, to automate infrastructure deployment and integration processesExperience with cloud security best practices, such as implementing identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks across cloud environmentsEducation : Essential : First university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fieldCertification in Google Cloud ServiceDesirable : Service Management qualification, such as ITIL or ISO 20000
Languages : English : Expert knowledge is required

Compensation : Fee will be based either on the National Officer salary scales or the Individual Consultancy band levels (for Headquarters)
