Reporting Lines: The selected candidate will be under the supervision of the FAO and WFP Global Coordinators (Food Security Cluster) and in close consultation with FAO and WFP Emergency Directors.
Technical Focus:
Capitalize on Global Network knowledge and other international food security stakeholders to build a solid, evidence-based body of knowledge of successful context-based prevention, early action and response interventions, particularly in operationalizing the humanitarian-development-peace nexus.
Serve as a convening platform for all food security stakeholders at country level and globally (especially the FSC and the gFSC), issuing evidence and consensus-based operational response plans guidance to food crises, particularly in protracted and violence-affected countries.
Support integrated programming that facilitates an integrated response across the humanitarian-development-peace nexus providing common messages for coordinated fundraising and resource allocation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Act as focal person on HDPN for the food security cluster, contributing to designing cluster strategy and tasks on HDPN, networking with partners, clusters teams, and different global forums.
Contribute to the implementation of the pillar on HDPN for the gFSC strategy 2023-2025.
Facilitate data sharing and analysis between Clusters and partners and support the creation of a Consolidated Information System (CIS).
Identify successful responses and best practices in operationalizing integrated food security emergency & HDPN programmes.
Contribute to joint research projects on systemic drivers of food insecurity and undernutrition in Chad, Nigeria, Somalia, and South Sudan.
Consult with all Network partners and stakeholders to adapt design and implement protocols for multi-sector joint planning and localization.
Contribute to global network strategic dialogue to promote common priorities across the HDPN in food crises context.
Contribute to bridging partners' monitoring systems to understand synergies and gaps of partners' actions at community level.
Contribute to strengthening coordination with national, local actors and communities for analyses, forecasting, and response planning.
Build FSC staff awareness and capacity to inform FSC actions through an HDP approach.
Contribute to the development of joint advocacy with the Advocacy and communication staff.
Support linking HRP with medium to longer term strategy to design country food security cluster strategy where applicable.
Candidates Will Be Assessed Against The Following:
A university degree in business or public administration, social science, political science, agronomy, food security or related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in inter-agency coordination, field operation management, humanitarian and/or development sector, preferably in food security and/or nutrition.
Working knowledge (level C) of English and limited knowledge of French (level B).

Technical/Functional Skills:
Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable.
Extent and relevance of experience in needs assessment, cluster coordination and Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus.
Extent and relevance of experience in rehabilitation, humanitarian policies development, programme formulation and implementation.
Extent and relevance of experience in identifying and preparing programme strategies and policy position on humanitarian and transition context.
