GLOBAL CHEMICAL PROCESS EXPERT - Italy (Mortara - PV) Is your strength providing high level chemical process competency to support the development and the industrialization for new chemical products and to assess process criticalities, propose and implement mitigation and improvement actions for existing products? And do you see it as a challenge to work in a global function/position in an international environment? What are you going to do? Actively participate in the industrialization of new processes, analyzing industrial needs, collaborating in the definition of supporting laboratory experiments, and providing assessments on suitability of existing lines to produce new products or to relocate from/to other sites. Define stability and calorimetric tests for new processes or new production transfers, providing support and consultancy in process risk assessments, and proactively cooperating in the preparation of energy and material balances, including recycling and recovery flows for the industrial line. Provide support for the design of process flow diagrams and P&IDs, for the preparation of start-up procedures and tuning and fine-tuning initiatives. Study, analyze, and propose optimization measures for process parameters (yield, energy requirements, batch size, cycle time and capacity, technology & equipment, quality, process and quality consistency, and degree of automation) and synthesis routes, providing support, by means of the root cause analyses methodology, to the resolution of process deviations (troubleshooting). You have a Master's degree in organic or industrial chemistry and at least ten years of experience in laboratory and industrial processes in a wide range of technologies: unit operations (rectification, crystallization, filtration, drying); batch/semibatch/continuos reactors; multi-stage plants; off-gas treatment; different degrees of automation. You have knowledge and experience on a wide range of chemical processes: Friedel Crafts, halogenations, diazotation, (trans)esterification, elimination, (catalytic) addition, hydrogenation, condensation, oligomerization, transformations with high thermal risk potential. You have knowledge of physical chemistry and of analytical methodologies and tools. You enjoy working in a group to achieve common goals, constantly liaising with internal and external stakeholders as well as with colleagues in Italy or in other countries; we expect you can do this fluently both in Italian and English. You'll be based in Italy (Mortara) with a direct reporting line to the Operations Technical Director, but a willingness to travel (especially to China) is a must have for us.
