Position Overview: Duties will include managing the support, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company's SQL server landscape. Additionally, the Database Administrator will manage the support, implementation, maintenance, and SharePoint landscape. Responsibility Summary:Microsoft SQL Database Administrator Administer SQL security Create, modify DB tables and fields Investigate data questions from the business and I Oversee back-up and restore of databases Size and monitor database server performance and space capacity Participate in creation and configuration of databases to support new application Apply Microsoft patches to SQL servers on monthly basis Database tuning and remediation of issues found in SQL health checks and vulnerability assessment Assist in setup and deployment of new SQL servers and clusters Assist in removal of decommissioned SQL servers and instances Monitor and investigate DB Best Practice reports and DB alert notifications Support and configure SQL high availability utilizing availability groups and clustering SharePoint Site Development and Support Support modification of various internal SharePoint sites Create, modify and support custom coded sites Utilize ShareGate utility to: Migrate/Import data to/from SharePoint sites/librarie Generate permission, storage and usage reports Adjust site and library permissions Other: This position will also be responsible for various duties as assigned by the Director of GIT Server and Client Solutions, including but not limited to: Documentation: Develop installation, configuration, and recovery procedures for both standard and non-standard software packages and server systems. Projects: assist projects with SQL, SharePoint and Data Services related requirements Inventory: Maintain accurate SQL Server and DB inventory Position Requirements and Qualifications: Minimum: 5 years' DBA experience Education: Minimum: 4-year College degree or equivalent business experience, Preferred Certifications: Microsoft SQL/Database Administrator Required Core Competencies: Communication: Can effectively communicate technical information and concepts to team members, outside partners and managers. Planning/Priority Setting: Can recognize changing needs and pre-prioritize activities accordingly; is able to develop plans and timetables to complete projects and meet defined objectives and milestones. Project Management: Can develop and manage to project plans that account for resources, time and cost. MS Project experience a plus. Analytical/Decision Making: Can identify critical elements and cause/effect relationships in situations; is able to use this information to evaluate, draw inferences, and make decisions Technical Problem Solving: Understand deeply the features and functionality of the technologies and pushes the system and products of their limits; ability to work with obstacles in the technical product, usually with no documentation.
