RINA is currently recruiting for a GIS Consultant to join its office in Genoa, Milan, Rome - Italy within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.
Mission The ideal candidate will work on challenging offshore projects as GIS Consultant, collating, processing and interpreting/modeling geoscience data (geophysical, geological and geotechnical data) within a team that delivers a wide spectrum of services including:
geo-data spatial analysis; SSDM database development; implementation of automatic tool for ground modelling; Key Accountabilities Be responsible for GIS data deliverables: collection, integration and management of geographic (geospatial) data using ArcGIS. Use Seabed Survey Data Model (SSDM). Provide technical support in developing ground models based on geo-data integration through application (i.e. spatial analyst) and creation of automatic digital tool (i.e. python). Creating and managing ESRI and open source web GIS solutions. Contributing to technical innovation and development. Contributing to technical reports and presentations. Education Master's Degree in Geology or Engineering General; Other in Geography.
Qualifications MSc degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Geology or Engineering with specific focus on Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or Geomatics. Having at least 3 years of experience in spatial data and metadata handling and analysis, GIS and remote sensing applications focused on geoscience projects. Good knowledge of ESRI GIS Tools. Ability to create geodatabase, the knowledge of SSDM data modelling. Ability to develop geo-models and geostatistical tools using ESRI Model Builder and/or QGIS Processing Modeller. Knowledge of some scripting language to create/customise geospatial software applications (Python, SQL, Javascript, and others). Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a wider consultancy team. Good level of Italian and English (both spoken and written). Knowledge of QGIS and/or FME analysis software as a plus. AutoCad drafting capabilities and knowledge of its mapping tools as a plus. Experience of creating web mapping solutions using ESRI or Open Source technology will be considered as a plus. Remote sensing and satellite data processing and management is a plus.
