Unleash your energy within! Be a part of the EDC Team! The Geologist provides technical support to BD, Project Sites and other relevant groups in ensuring the continuous growth of EDC's portfolio in geothermal energy from permit acquisition, resource evaluation, exploration strategy, planning & development and resource sustainability. The Geologist conducts geological surveys in development and expansion areas within Project Sites to help identify challenges that affect the sustainability of current operations and assists in the resolution of identified problems.
The Geologist participates in the planning, organization and proper coordination with stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection and efficient, safe and smooth implementation of geological surveys. The Geologist assists BD in permit acquisition mainly for the implementation of geological surveys in frontier areas by presenting technical aspects of geoscientific surveys to stakeholders, primarily to LGUs and Indigenous Cultural Communities.
The Geologist, in coordination with the other geoscientists, develops a conceptual geothermal/hydrogeological model, determines the geothermal potential and viability of various geothermal prospects either through review of existing data, due diligence or conduct of geological surveys and integrated assessments, and provides technically sound recommendations to BD, Project Sites and other groups on whether to pursue the prospect or not.
The Geologist identifies geological and structural features and recommends well targets that are used by the well geologist in the well design and geological prognosis. The Geologist provides general to detailed technical recommendations for project resource exploration, development and multi-well drilling for resource development and sustainability. The Geologist proposes/plans well targets, prepares well design options and well geological prognoses, participates in well sitting activities during drilling costing P350-500M/well, interfaces with drilling rig staff (toolpushers, rig managers, drilling engineers) in relation to geologic logging of cuttings, presents geology results during well review, and participates in well targeting for exploration and development strategy.
The Geologist contributes in the formulation of strategies for the improvement of the different field and well geology processes such as field geological and structural mapping, well designing and well sitting, interpretation and analysis of well drilling results. The Geologist complies with the Team's mandate, attends to various customers' requirements, and implements all field and well geology activities within or below the approved budget. The Geologist is responsible/accountable for relevant wellsitting instruments/equipment.
