Mission The Geohazard Consultant focuses on contributing to various aspects of geohazard assessment, geophysical site investigation, risk analysis, and mitigation strategies under the guidance of senior professionals in offshore and nearshore environments.
Key Accountabilities Geophysical Site Interpretation: Interpret geophysical data including MBES, SSS, and SBP with moderate supervision.
Analyze and validate geophysical data to characterize seabed features and subsurface structures.
Utilize advanced software tools for data interpretation.
Data Integration and Assimilation: Assimilate and integrate geophysical and geological data from various sources.
Develop ground models for hazard and risk assessment purposes.
Geohazard and Risk Assessment: Conduct geohazard assessments to identify potential risks.
Perform risk analyses to quantify and prioritize hazards.
Develop risk models and scenarios to support decision-making processes.
Site Investigation: Plan and execute field investigations and surveys to collect geological and geophysical data.
Coordinate with survey teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.
Engineering Design Support: Provide engineering support and recommendations during design and construction phases.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate geohazard considerations.
Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement cost-effective mitigation measures.
Design and optimize protective measures to enhance resilience against hazards.
Technical Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting geophysical site interpretations and risk analyses.
Present results clearly using maps, illustrations, and data visualization techniques.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices.
Project Management: Manage smaller geohazard engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Coordinate project activities, milestones, and deliverables.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Convey technical concepts and recommendations clearly.
Education Master's Degree in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in geophysical data interpretation and geohazard assessment.
Proficiency in advanced software tools used in geophysical data analysis.
Proficiency in interpreting geophysical data including MBES, SSS, and SBP with moderate supervision.
Ability to analyze and validate geophysical data to characterize seabed features and subsurface structures.
Ability in assimilating and integrating geophysical and geological data from various sources.
Ability to develop ground models for hazard and risk assessment purposes.
