RINA is currently recruiting for a Genoa Senior Marine Surveyor to join its office in Genoa within the Marine South West Europe Region Division.
Mission
The Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.
Key Accountabilities Professional Specialist:
- Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts.
- Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.Inspection and Reporting:
- Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
- Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.Leadership and Coordination:
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work.
- Monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors.Client Interaction:
- Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.
- Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.Training and Development:
- Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors.
- Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.Quality Assurance:
- Ensures the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.Ethical Conduct:

Master's Degree in Naval Engineering
Qualifications Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years' experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry.Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services.Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.Ability to understand engineering plans and have knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.Ability to perform either new building surveys or ship in service surveys.Knowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery.Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.
