Job Core Responsibilities Leads and directs all activities toward meeting and delivering overall business objectives, and holds profit and loss responsibility for the business.Provide strategic direction and guidance to the team.Work cross-functionally and cross-divisionally to deliver the key goals and objectives.Drive the strategic direction of the organization, for both the mid and long term. This includes annual business plans, 5 year strategic plans, and brand/product portfolio plans.Prioritizes and allocates resources across the different marketing channels, and implements key initiatives including market research into consumer and physician insights, pricing, advertising, and promotions.Demonstrates strong leadership skills and engages the entire business to a common goal and vision. Acknowledges the performance and behaviours of others that are in alignment with the overall vision of the business and encourages creativity, innovation, and measured risk-taking.Secures diverse talent and builds a high-performing team that has an appropriate balance of CPG and HCP experience. Creates a climate in which team members respond favourably to coaching and development.Ensures that capabilities and systems are in place to operate legally and ethically in a global business environment.Description of Responsibilities Strategic Planning – Develops an overall business strategy that is visionary, aligns with the corporate global strategy, considers stakeholder interests, contains specific timelines, and stays within budgetary guidelines. Provides strategic input and utilizes comprehensive insight in decision making. Establishes a collaborative approach with his/her leadership team, and facilitates the consideration of ideas of others into strategies. Ability to identify future business opportunities, including market/channel dynamic changes early, in order to develop long term, sustainable strategies which will deliver competitive advantage and market share gain.Business Management – Prioritizes undertakings based upon appropriately detailed risk/reward analyses. Conveys objectives and milestones clearly so that he/she can develop and then lead others in the execution of tasks to achieve desired results. Encourages the implementation of applications that are innovative and creative. Delegates appropriately, but assures that timelines are being met and financial results are delivered and optimized.Assessment – Routinely monitors the effectiveness and return on investment of strategic business initiatives. Proactively analyses and evaluates data, input, and proposals from a variety of sources to confirm alignment and/or determine adjustments to plans and/or tactics. Stays current on a wide range of business and industry concerns, and uses this knowledge to identify key impact drivers. Assesses and prioritizes potential business growth opportunities.Consumer and Customer Development – Influences the development and enhancement of relationships with consumers, customers, and key stakeholders. Anticipates future needs, and implements strategies toward meeting these in advance of the competition. Draws from broad resources to decide which created and/or presented opportunities will be pursued. Builds short and long term partnerships to ensure the effectiveness of the overall business strategy. Drives brand/product positioning and competitive selling strategies for the overall business.People Development – Seeks personal development opportunities and continuous learning and encourages others to do the same. Serves as a positive role model by exhibiting ethical principles and behaviours and insists others follow this lead. Provides employees with experiences and assignments that will allow them to expand their capabilities. Always takes an active stance in managing poor performance. Coaches team members on the enhancement of their strengths and the improvement of their developmental needs. Anticipates time of position opening, builds the talent base, and has candidates ready for appropriate opportunities. Understands the benefit of operating and managing a truly diverse organization.Knowledge and Experience Sustained success running and building complex commercial operations with P/L accountability of minimum US$50MM, and growing market share faster than the competition.Ideally at least 10 years of multi-brand, multi-category healthcare commercial experience (HC Professional, consumer influencer, and modern trade experience), ideally in both complex contract driven reimbursed market, with DTC experience. Experience within a nutritional business would be advantageous.Successful access and growth of institutional/hospital/reimbursed channels through demonstrated balance of upstream/downstream management. Proven and successful commercial execution through ethical sales force: Sales Force Effectiveness and CME.Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans and budgets.Demonstrated ability to anticipate irrational marketplace activity and proactively have Plan B scenarios in place given regional competitive, customer, and governmental volatility.Strong analytical and business intelligence skills in respect to gaining and interpreting consumer insights.Executive presence/engagement with Division senior leaders; prior specific general management experience or at least 5 years or in large BUM/BUD with cross functional leadership (Marketing, Commercial, RA, and Finance) preferably with responsibility of Italy. Speaks and writes Italian fluently.
