Description
The Baker is responsible for planning, baking, and packaging all fresh baked goods for the food court, restaurants and special events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works directly with the Executive Chef to determine weekly baked good needs of all restaurants, food outlets and special events.Suggests new and additional items based upon ingredient availability, seasons and promotions, and popularity of items being sold.Creates and follows recipes, scaling as needed to achieve required product volume.Prepare and package all baked goods to ensure sufficient product availability focusing on items needed for days when no baking is being done.Ensures that all food is baked, handled and stored properly to ensure freshness and quality of products.Plates and displays baked goods in a manner that is pleasing to the guests and efficient for accessibility in display areas.Stays informed on new and efficient baking tools and equipment and recommends products to the Executive Chef.Informs management of any kitchen problems or deficiencies that may arise.Maintains kitchen and bakery table area, as well as service coolers and displays in a sanitary and organized fashion.Keeps all foods rotated and fresh using the FIFO method (first in first out).May assist in baking product inventory and ordering as needed.Closely follows the F&B department health and personal hygiene policy.Other duties as directed by management.WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY Minimum age requirement for this position is 18 years old.Possess or obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment.Must have 2 years combined experience in production bread baking and dessert items or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
