POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Site Director will be an important addition to the Florence On-site team during the Spring 2025 semester as an assistant to on-site team for student activities, housing issues, and a liaison between housing providers and CIS Abroad helping to make the student experience in Florence a fabulous one. This position reports to the Italy Country Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Assist with airport pick ups Assist students in case of flight delays and lost luggage Assist with housing check ins, and run a housing orientation in all designated apartments and/or dorms Assist students during "housing office hours" (schedule TBD) Liaison between CIS Abroad, housing providers, and students Report weekly via email to CIS Abroad on site staff about any housing/roommates issues Virtually join the weekly staff meeting Listen to any concerns or issues students may have and communicate these to leadership or administration, and report to CIS Abroad on site staff Prepare for and participate in students' first weeks on site, including helping CIS Abroad on site staff deliver activities, and conducting orientations, walking tours, welcome meals etc. Assist on site staff with permit of stay procedures (collecting documents, post office appointments, immigration office appointments etc.) Assist CIS Abroad on site staff with excursions and activities throughout the semester and helping students stay informed and engaged about these activities. Main duties include: group up students at meeting points; take pictures and videos during activities and excursions; assist with logistics before and during the activities/excursion Assist on-site staff during 2-4 day trips that will take place on a Saturday and 1 sports event that may take place on a Sunday. Address any concerns students may have with other residents and act as a moderator to solve any problems Serve as point of contact with housing services providers for any non-emergency housing issues, including lock-outs, cleaning schedule Staying up to date with CIS Abroad guidelines and code of conduct to ensure students are following them Hold meetings with the students as needed to help students connect and have a good experience in Florence Assist on site staff with health & safety emergency and non-emergency issues including filling out incident reports, taking students to the police station to file police reports, etc. Share health & safety resources and reminders with students via whatsapp and email Create/update contents to share with students (CIS Abroad student guide, CIS Abroad social media) Collect video testimonials and assist on site staff with marketing deliverables SUCCESS TARGETS
Provide quality support to our students both for Student Life related activities and housing, as directed by the Italy Country and Florence Site Directors Ensure a prompt response and assistance (preferably within 24 hours) to students in case of any housing issues Liaise between CIS onsite staff, housing providers and students, to ensure timely and accurate communication to resolve any housing maintenance and/or roommate issues REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Ability to act professionally at all times and as a strong role model for students Ability to maintain a calming presence in case of emergency events in order to direct and assist residents safely Strong organization and planning skills Great time management Excellent communication - fluent in both English and Italian Experience working with international students, preferably US university students in the field of International Education and/or in the field of hospitality, customer service, property management. Experience working in Italy with international students and/or tourists, preferably in Florence. Aptitude to thrive without a routine or daily supervision Team player with a rockin' sense of humor Must have a positive attitude Outgoing, flexible, reliable, honest with an open mind Adaptability Multi-tasking Legal ability to work and get paid in Italy Must be willing to undergo background check Social media content creation skills including video and photo editing; writing and storytelling. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
