Major DutiesThe work involves the performance of specific, routine operations that include a few separate tasks or procedures.
Individual tasks assigned and competencies required are those defined per applicable International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) manual (Essentials of Firefighting) and Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications.
Assignments are clear and directly related thereto.
Incumbent is subject to daily training to maintain proficiency.

Structural FirefightingEmergency Medical ResponseHazardous Material ResponseRelated Aid and Rescue work associated with facilities and operationsInteraction with Host Nation responders for potential multi-agency emergenciesKnowledge of the function of controls and regulations as well as their testing and evaluationRisk assessment of the operation of electrical devices, equipment, and systemsKnowledge of Host Nation policies, protocols, procedures, and equipmentCertification for Technical Suitability for the performance of the role of "firefighter"Knowledge of the principles of hydraulic calculation pertaining to water-flow friction, loss, and pump pressures, etc.Knowledge of special safety equipment, tools, and extinguishing agentsNOTE: Tour of duty is 42 hours per week on 12-hour rotating shifts which cover the 24 hours and include weekends, holidays, and days of rest.
Qualification RequirementsApplicants must have six months of general work experience, namely, any type of work not necessarily related to firefighting.
A command of the English language sufficient to understand basic fire protection and prevention terminology is required.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: In order to qualify for this position, your application must provide sufficient experience to meet the requirements of the position.
