"Financial Lines Business Analyst"
About the role
The FL Business Analyst will be responsible for producing Operational and related reports to support business leaders in identifying value drivers and formulating action plans to improve growth and profitability.
The Analyst is expected to actively analyze and determine problem areas, suggest action plans and find ways to improve the operational reports.
The analyst will identify key data sources and work with the responsible functions (marketing, finance, claims, operations, actuarial, underwriting and distribution) to extract needed information in a standardized and efficient manner
**The responsibilities for this role include**:
Tracking of reinsurance use (FAC)
Working with Claims & Actuarial on watchlist and IBNR pools
Management of DC improvements in collaboration with the product heads
Monthly validation of the rate change data provided by actuaries
Contact person for UW in reporting rater issue
Track and improve rater usage and simplify rater structure
Contact point with O&S department
Responsible for overall data quality including constant improvement of the UW Scorecard KPIs
Responsible for Data validation and collection
Responsible for data collection and data accuracy for Profit studies
Responsible for the Underwriting Governance structure
Implement standardized rater structure for all our IT Platform, agreements and quote pad approach
Review all DUA and MGAs and Broker facilities and implement controls
Oversee the Data workflow from the different distribution channels providing ad hoc reports
Monitor constantly the Financial Lines book providing good reports to identify the portfolio composition
Work to implement efficiencies with our IT platform creating a unique approach and rater harmonization
Ensure adherence to all policies, guidelines and procedures
Identify, distribute and implement best practices for Business Analytic tools, process and techniques
Partner with Product Management and work collaboratively across functions (marketing, finance, claims, operations, actuarial, underwriting and distribution) to establish the key financial and operational drivers of economic value for the business segment
Lead the analysis of the key metrics to evaluate the performance of the business operations (e.g.
closure ratios, retention, UW turn times, mix of business changes, etc.)
that need to be managed in order for the business segment to produce profitable and growing performance
Consolidate summary information from all of the different disciplines to provide a holistic view of the performance of the business segment.
Highlight critical trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability and growth
Produce concise, relevant and actionable management information reports and analysis, including an understanding of the completion
Demonstrate strong understanding of local macroeconomic and competitive trends in each market and provide insight to product managers
Provide leadership in the decision making on required actions.
Propose and help implement solutions to improve profitability with respect to short and long term portfolio remediation strategies
Monitor agreed upon underwriting corrective action plans with actual to expected result measurement for the business segments
Provide feedback on specific segment and product strategies to ensure that sales, growth, and profitability objectives are achieved
