Financial Controller - Hotel Cipriani, a Belmond Hotel, VeniceYour Moment Awaits…. As Financial Controller you will have ownership of financial controls & procedures for the Hotel. Observing Belmond policies and GAAP principles in line with local requirements you will provide expert financial support ensuring compliance and performance of hotel accounting.
Primary Responsibilities: Overseeing all sales, purchasing, salaries and expensesImplementing and reviewing financial policiesAudit compliance including actioning recommendations and liaising with internal stakeholdersProduction of monthly financial reporting GAAPOverseeing budgeting & forecasting process and long term planningMonthly and annual reportingSpecific Duties: Responsible for monitoring budgets and reporting major deviations of over-expenditure, under-budgeting or non-compliance to the approved budgetBusiness partner with two General Managers implementing controls, solutions, and action plansAssist the General Managers in establishing local policies, rules, internal controls and safeguards that ensure profitability and control of operationsAdvise and provide counsel to the General Managers, HODs and finance teams on all financial mattersTreasury & Tax: Treasury management, cash planning, reviewing the cash position to optimize the use of funds and minimize the volume of cash being held in the businessReview all changes of tax laws and accounting policies, assess their implications on the business and ensure the finance team implements appropriate changesOther Duties: Support the financial function of any opening of new productsAssist with the accounting related to any hotel or other asset sales, product closure and ownership changesTogether with the General Managers, manage the relations with third party, owners and/or partnersFacilitate the best communication and reporting between the Belmond regional office in MilanCommunicate relevant information to the Divisional Financial Controllers and the General ManagersRequirements: What you Bring: Relevant Qualification or experience in Accounting, FinancePrior experience as a Financial Controller or equivalentExperience in Hospitality/Luxury hotels essentialExcellent communication skills in Italian and EnglishEffective management, leadership, organization, communication and presentation skillsWhat We Offer: At Belmond, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture built on kindness, active listening, and genuine connections with our colleagues and guests.
