Your Moment Awaits…. As Financial Controller, you will have ownership of financial controls & procedures for the Hotel. Observing Belmond policies and GAAP principles in line with local requirements, you will provide expert financial support ensuring compliance and performance of hotel accounting.
Primary Responsibilities: Financial Control: Overseeing all sales, purchasing, salaries, and expenses. Implementing and reviewing financial policies. Audit compliance including actioning recommendations and liaising with internal stakeholders. Financial Reporting: Production of monthly financial reporting GAAP. Overseeing budgeting & forecasting process and long-term planning. Monthly and annual reporting. Financial Performance: Responsible for monitoring budgets and for reporting major deviations of over-expenditure, under-budgeting, or non-compliance to the approved budget. Business partner with the General Manager implementing controls, solutions, and action plans. Assist the General Manager in establishing local policies, rules, internal controls, and safeguards that ensure profitability and control of operations. Advise and provide counsel to the General Manager, HODs, and finance teams on all financial matters. Treasury & Tax: Treasury management, cash planning, reviewing the cash position to optimize the use of funds and minimize the volume of cash being held in the business. Review all changes of tax laws and accounting policies, assess their implications on the business, and ensure the finance team implements appropriate changes. Other: Support the financial function of any opening of new products. Assist with the accounting related to any hotel or other asset sales, product closure, and ownership changes. Together with the General Manager, manage the relations with third party, owners, and/or partners. Facilitate the best communication and reporting between the Belmond regional office in Milan. Communicate relevant information to the Divisional Financial Controller and the General Manager. Requirements: What you Bring: Relevant Qualification or experience in Accounting, Finance. Prior experience as a Financial Controller or equivalent. Experience in Hospitality/Luxury hotels essential. Excellent communication skills in Italian and English. Effective management, leadership, organization, communication, and presentation skills.
