Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle Management profiles, is currently looking for a Italy Regional Financial Controller for a company leader in online services to buy and sell.
The Italy Regional Financial Controller is responsible for controlling the finance operations of businesses operating within Italy.
This role will safeguard the Italy accounting policies and procedures, audit and compliance principles to address gaps and weaknesses, establish risks and ensure adequate controls and reporting requirements are in place.
He/she will be responsible for the following activities:
- Accountable for legal entity financial statements for Italy and ensuring compliance with Italy GAAP requirements;
- Leading the detailed review and submission of Financial Statements to the Market Finance Lead for sign off for the Italy market;
- Interpretating of P&L, BS and CF variations into meaningful insights, to inform decision making & deliver against key metrics;
- Controlling of local statutory accounting and ensuring adherence to policies;
- Working alongside the Business to ensure accounting flow capture the new business models (product, revenues, stream, etc.
);
- Review material accounting entries and material transaction related reconciliations (including Balance Sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions);
- Mantain the accuracy of financial reporting, systems and procedures to comply with IFRS requirements and corporate policies to guarantee the integrity of financial results for Italy;
- Partner with external auditors on market specific audit queries (including statutory audits) and consolidate data requirements;
- Devise budget methodology and targets for the Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements and certain areas of P&L;
- Collaborate with market finance teams to ensure accurate financial submissions including accurate accounting treatment for month-end closing activities including accruals, deferrals, cost allocations, etc.

- Support the internal control environment & testing across organisation, communicate exception & performance reports back to the business;
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to operational methods where appropriate;
- Manage stakeholders effectively across the Business, local/global Finance teams and external third parties.
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Economics with previous experience in Accounting and/or Audit
- Experience working with a large, global finance team or professional services firm
- Strong financial acumen and analytical thinkingExperience in using SAP S4 & OneStream
- Preferred industry knowledge in technology & online business retail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge & collaborate
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence decision-making among senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS
- Excellent Google suite skills (advanced in Excel/Spreadsheets)
- Fluent English and Italian is essential
- Minimum 5 years working experience
