We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Milan office as a **Finance Business Partner**.
A proactive, team-oriented Senior who can thrive in a growing business full of great opportunity, working alongside with Managing Director/Group Leader and with the regional finance team.
The role will have responsibility to manage the Italy finance team, driving and monitoring financial performance, advice, support, business planning and reporting.
In addition, the Finance Business Partner will be part of Arup's Europe Finance Team and will work on various projects and initiatives to improve our financial and commercial metrics across Europe.
Your role:
- Responsible for preparing and filing Arup Italy management and statutory accounts and financial statements ensuring they comply with Italian accounting regulations and requirements as well as Arup policies
- Ownership of Arup Italy statutory, contractual, and legal operations, ensuring legal compliance of Arup Italy on all tax, financial and accounting matters, and coordinating external tax, accounting, and legal advisors
- Delivering financial excellence and innovation
- Supporting the Arup Italy Business and Managing Director with financial planning, insight, analysis, and reporting
- Ensuring appropriate financial, accounting, cost control, optimisation, and reconciliation procedures for Arup Italy in compliance with local regulations and Arup policies
- Managing the Arup Italy Finance Team and responsible for their professional development and mentoring
- Providing financial and commercial advice and support to our Project Directors and Project Managers on tax, financial, and associated legal matters related to project contracts
- Ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting on projects, and assisting Project Directors and Project Managers with project forecasting and financial reporting
- Collaborating closely with other Business Functions
- Preparing Annual Business Plans and interim reviews
- Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and cash collection
- Managing Arup Italy purchasing/sourcing function and associated procedures
Required:
- Post graduate degree in Economics/Finance or equivalent
- Fully fluent in Italian and English
- Experience in business management and accounting, managing a similar structured finance function, managing financial accounts and delivering financial results within the Italian tax, accounting and legal framework
- Experienced / or interested in building and developing strong and diverse teams
- Experience / or ability to work and influence at senior management level in an international environment
- Team player willing to proactively collaborate with and support the leadership deliver financial results
- Demonstrable success in delivering high quality financial insight, projects and programmes
- Strong communication skills
- Action oriented with a sense of urgency. Acts in collaboration with the leadership, energetic in dealing with the commercial challenges of our business
- An ability to innovate, together with the ability to facilitate, explore and deliver change and continuous improvement
