No Offer Description The project aims to test the hypothesis that a prophylaxis with non-selective ß-blockers, a more conservative strategy compared to the resection of sympathetic fibers from the major splanchnic nerves, could improve the innate immune system's ability to resolve an infection by hindering the inhibitory action mediated by the sympathetic nerves.
The successful Research Fellow will support all activities related to the in vivo trial on pigs, actively participating in the daily management of the animals and the procedures according to the SOPs and protocols used by the affiliating unit.
A dedicated training and education phase will be provided for this purpose.
Additionally, the Research Fellow will be responsible for coordinating various biological sample collections, their processing, and some laboratory analyses, up to the statistical analysis of results, under the supervision of the researchers involved in the project.
