Job Description:The Field Engineer is to provide capable and effective field support to Jord clients and projects to ensure the reliable operation of equipment supplied and/or serviced by Jord while working with minimal supervision.
This includes installation, alignment, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, resolution of warranty & performance issues and optimisation of all equipment within Jord's scope of service at a site level.
This includes the training of end-user staff and determination of end-user quality improvements.
This role will interface directly with Customers, the Aftermarket Sales Team, Spare Parts, Operations Project Managers, Engineering and various levels of Jord management in the execution of the required duties.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide on-site technical support, installation supervision and commissioning support for the equipment Jord supplies and/or services.Perform hands-on, on-site, condition assessment, troubleshooting, service and repairs.Provide technical support to external customers to effectively resolve customer issues.Provide on-site training of end users or customer staff where required.Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and escalate technical or customer issues to the aftermarket sales team as necessary.Promote continuous improvement on site by providing effective and professional feedback on site issues.Interfacing with cross functional work teams within Jord including Engineering, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Procurement, manufacturing and RCA teams.Assist in the development and review of Jord Technical Service documentation.Prepare and review reports and QAQC documentation.Inspect components and equipment and take active involvement for product development and Root Cause Analysis.Develop and maintain service information and reports in Jord's Horizon Systems.Interact with Jord's customer support and the aftermarket sales team to continually evaluate and improve equipment support solutions, channels and strategies.Present Jord as a professional, capable, reliable and experienced service provider and maintain effective communications with the client during the assignment to ensure satisfaction and implement any necessary corrective action.Remain flexible in filling other field assignments as and when required.Ensure timely completion and submission of all documentation and paperwork required by the position and specific assignments.Ensure compliance to all HS&E, Quality and Environmental procedures and requirements required by Jord and any end user site.Undertake training where required or determined as necessary by the Company.Undertake miscellaneous other duties as required.Adhere to all Jord company policies and IMS requirements.Skills and Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical qualifications in mechanical engineering or related trade qualifications.A minimum of six years' experience as a Field Services Engineer or suitable similar position.A strong understanding or previous exposure to Jord's product range or products of a similar nature.The ability to comprehend mechanical, electrical and process drawings and be able to effectively use computer databases, in-house programs and MS Office programs.Strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude.Strong communication skills in written and spoken English and the ability to effectively work, cooperate and communicate with client and end users on site.A high degree of mobility, preparedness to travel for extended periods and the ability to adapt to situations that can be stressful and natural environments that can exhibit extremes in temperature and conditions.A strong understanding of the relevant health and safety regulations.
