OverviewNomad Digital has an exciting opportunity for a 6 month fixed-term Field Service Engineer to come and join our Operations Maintenence team in Nola, Italy.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for responding to electronic tickets and attending relevant vehicles to resolve hardware and software issues with our mobile network infrastructure.
Field Engineers must develop working relationships with many manufacturers and Rail/Bus operators in order to be effective.Work Location: Office based, Nola (50-60% field based)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and repair on-train/bus network infrastructure including router, cellular modems, and access pointsOnsite trouble shooting and Root Cause analysisKeep tickets up-to-date with timely updates regarding work performed or new problems discoveredMaintain work schedule around vehicle availability, supervised by Lead Field Service EngineerMaintain spare parts inventory and request replenishment when necessaryEnsure that priority work is being undertakenAssist Project Managers in completing project tasks such as upgrades, testing, commissioning, and installationsRole RequirementsNetwork equipment installation and maintenance – EssentialPassenger / Freight rail experience – Preferred or Transportation experienceExperience supporting Wi-Fi and Cellular systems - PreferredWork within an electronic ticket system – EssentialGood in-person, phone, and email communication skills - EssentialBasic knowledge of LINUX/UNIX systems – EssentialScripting within LINUX/UNIX - PreferredExperience with data cabling and various interfaces - EssentialAble to terminate and repair ethernet cables - EssentialAbility to work flexibly, occasional evenings and night workAbility to work well in pressurized situationsAbility to work to set deadlinesExcellent Verbal and Written Communication skillsAbility to think proactively in a fast-paced environmentPositive 'can do' attitude #J-18808-Ljbffr
