YOUR TEAM You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where physicists, chemists, engineers, material scientists, biotechnologists and biologists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Advanced Materials for Sustainable Future Technologies Research Unit is coordinated by Prof. Fabrizio Pirri, who has extensive experience in technologies for the energetic transition.
The research focuses on the development of biobased ionic liquids and biobased solvents for electrochemical energy storage application starting from abundant biomasses sources. This includes synthesis and purifications activities.
Your main responsibilities will be: Selection and degradation of biomasses to fundamentals components using green chemistryOptimization of synthesis of solvents and ionic liquidsStudies of chemical-physical characteristicsESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A MSc degree in chemistry and similar disciplinesDocumented experience in organic synthesis, knowledge of main characterizations techniques such as thermal gravimetric analyses, NMR, UV-vis, DSC.Knowledge of Ionic liquids propertiesAbility to properly report, organize and publish research dataGood command of spoken and written EnglishADDITIONAL SKILLS Good communication skillsStrong problem-solving attitudeHigh motivation to learnSpirit of innovation and creativityGood at time and priority managementAbility to work in a challenging and international environmentAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environmentCOMPENSATION PACKAGE Competitive salary for international standardsWide range of staff discountsCandidates from abroad or Italian citizens who permanently work abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
