We are looking for people who want to join our Team in USAG Vicenza, ItalyApply now!JOB OPENINGTitle: Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Victim AdvocateLocation: USAG Vicenza, ItalyStart date: February 2025Job Type: Full TimeJOB OVERVIEWVictim Advocates are needed to perform victim advocacy services and Emergency Placement Care (EPC) coordination in support of the prevention and education of domestic violence and juvenile problematic sexual behavior under the Army Family Advocacy Program, including 24/7 victim advocacy response and EPC coordination.
This program operates through Army Community Services (ACS).QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, marriage, family, and child counseling, counseling or behavioral science, education, community health or public health.Victim Advocacy certification preferred.Experience: Minimum of two years experience providing comprehensive assistance and support to victims of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, safety assessment and planning, securing medical treatment, legal rights, and advocacy services.Minimum of one year of experience working with a military Family Support Center or a civilian social service agency serving military Families.Working knowledge of family violence dynamics, safety planning, risk assessments, local community resources, and federal and state laws pertaining to domestic abuse.Demonstrate understanding, sensitivity, and empathy for victims, and possess the ability to communicate effectively and develop trusting relationships.Ability to intervene in crisis situations with careful judgment and flexibility, and to operate within established guidelines of the FAP and the VAP.Ability to conduct briefings to small and large groups of civilians, Soldiers, and Commanders.Ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement, and legal personnel.Possess a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle license and have transportation.Physically and mentally able to perform all contractual duties, which may include transporting, lifting, and setting up displays.Computer literate with basic skills to prepare documentation and reports.Working knowledge of military protocol preferred.Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:DOMESTIC ABUSE ADVOCACY AND PREVENTION TASKSAct as part of the 24/7 on call rotational response capability to provide VA services.
Make contact with the victim of domestic abuse within 20 minutes when on call.Assist victims with crisis intervention, safety planning, and provide information and referrals to support services.Statistical DocumentationRevise existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.Submit Monthly Status reports and maintain accurate data within the Army system of record.Develop performance outcome measures and program evaluation tools.Materials & ResourcesMaintain an updated file of resources for victims of domestic abuse.Make annual recommendations on educational materials and resources for victims.Develop information packets in English and Spanish.Disseminate Government provided information on domestic abuse and the EPC program.Training and Training SupportConduct training/classes for Soldiers, Family Members, Commanders, and community members.Customize training materials as necessary.Record all provided training in the Client Tracking System.Client Surveys; Domestic Abuse Prevention and TrainingProvide a client survey to each victim and prepare a quarterly client satisfaction analysis report.Emergency Placement Care (EPC) Placement TasksProvide EPC placement for Families in crisis 24/7 upon request of FAP Clinical.-- #J-18808-Ljbffr
