Our client company is the Italian subsidiary of the world's largest group involved in Defense and Space for the government of the United Arab Emirates. Established in 2019, the company specializes in aerospace innovation, covering every aspect from production to research, with a focus on innovative systems and aircraft for all types of aerial mobility.
With a view to expanding our staff, we are looking for a FAL MATERIAL PLANNING LEADER who, reporting directly to the Operations Manager, will contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices, processes, and procedures to support and improve operational performance in material planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and DevelopmentContributing to the creation and implementation of best practices, processes and procedures to aid and to improve operational performance in Material Planning.General and Task ManagementTo ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and effectively work to ensure material supply meets Final Assembly Line requirements within minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs.To take ownership of material planning issues that arise and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages.To ensure that any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system in place is effective and that data are accurate and up to date so to resolve any incoming issues as required.Always ensure Bill of Materials' (BOM) integrity, inventory's accuracy and to manage and to control inventory levels and movements.To take overall responsibility for obsolete parts process and to ensure business is left with minimum liability and minimal waste.To ensure strategic and operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required.To guarantee that working activities are in line with Company Manuals and procedures.To support continuous improvement initiatives.People ManagementTo manage, to coach and to develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives delivering best practices' results, adding value and continuous improvements.To set departmental objectives/KPIs, to review and to assess ongoing performance of direct reports.To monitor and to supervise the staff under in order to maintain accurate material schedules, to get the right materials on site at the right time.To ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.Relationship ManagementTo collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the assembly lines as and when required.To work with cross functional teams to deliver effective solutions.To develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time.To design, develop and implement processes and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives involving internal supply chain management department.To contribute to supplier meetings to ensure demand for materials is met.Desired Soft Skills And Attributes To EvaluateHighly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships.Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.Commercial and financial acumen.Results oriented and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines.Proven analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.Anticipates and overcomes obstacles.Excellent attention to detail skills.Embraces personal challenge.Confident, rounded thinking.Resilient, optimistic and open to change.Self-starter and able to motivate others.RequirementsScience Master Degree (preferred Aerospace/Mechanical or Industrial Engineering).Significant experience (+4 years) of working in a materials planning role and managing the smooth supply of materials ideally within aerospace or high precision mechanic manufacturing industries.Proven people management skill set with the ability to optimize team performance and development.Knowledge and understanding of aircraft assembly processes and of supply chain management.Experience in handling supplier relationships.Strong IT systems knowledge and skills.Strong working knowledge and experience of using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems – InforLN and/or SAP systems preferred.Knowledge of lean techniques is preferred.Company HeadQuarter: near to Ascoli Piceno
