**Job Description**:
Position Summary:
The European Retail Operations FOH (Front of House) Specialist is a critical role in supporting both Trek's direct owned stores and independent retailers in Europe.
The role will help ensure we have trained staff, efficient and streamlined operations, accurate inventory control, and ensuring our business is set up for scalability and growth in the future.
This position plays an important role in maintaining Trek's standards, providing training, support and guidance for staff in the key areas of sales, operations and the service centre.
It supports our District Managers (DM's) in helping ensure our Store Managers (SM's) and staff are fully equipped with all the tools they need to provide exceptional hospitality to our customers and be the favourite retailer in their communities, alongside supporting the opening and development of stores around Europe.
Focused primarily but not exclusively on our Italian market this role will work alongside and support the existing operations team.
As we grow our business throughout Europe some European Travel may well be required, most obviously if we have the need for support at store openings in other European countries.
It is an exciting role, with a clear opportunity to add massive value to our European retail business.
By coordinating with the other key departments in Trek Retail (Finance, IT, HR, Purchasing and Marketing) we will continue to improve our processes and systems, minimize downtime in stores, streamline support and ultimately improve the end consumer experience in both Trek Owned Stores and our independent retail partners.
**Responsibilities**:
The Ops FOH Specialist covers the following duties in local language for our retail stores:
- Lead & organize new store acquisition & greenspace store setup and training
- Localize in-person training content and operational processes using SOP's
- Assist other initiatives locally as needed
- Support the tracking and reporting of all local training activities and learner progress
- Participate in and represent Ops in District Calls with SM's
- Support to ensure we maximise the benefits from Ascend, Trek's proprietary EPOS System
- Demonstrate operational and process excellence, as part of the Train the Trainer programme
- Key involvement in the development and evolution of standards for all European Stores
- Loss Prevention and Maintenance of accurate inventory, including audits where required
- Liaison with local finance teams to streamline daily, weekly and monthly procedures in stores
- Fill critical gaps in store management staffing when needed and available
- Support for store openings in other Districts around Europe as/when needed
**Requirements**:
- Bilingual and fluent in English and Italian.
French would be a big advantage, or alternatively German
- Legal ability to work in Europe
- Ability to connect with people, navigate differing viewpoints and cultural differences, and get everyone focused in the same direction
- Flexibility, creativity and adaptability.
We are on a Retail Journey, are open to ideas from anywhere, but also regularly have to determine and execute a "Plan B".
The ability to "think outside the box" when required is essential
- Experience in a retail store environment and/or technical service centre environment.. Management level experience would be a big benefit, but not essential
- Good skills with all Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook and Excel
- Presentation skills and use of Microsoft PowerPoint
- Communication and coordination skills with people at all levels from frontline staff to Directors
- Ability to learn new tools and programmes.
EPOS experience is desirable but not essential - the requirement to learn how to interpret and interrogate data is an essential component of this role, but full training will be provided
- Strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound business decisions quickly and extract data-driven facts out of emotional situations
- Flexibility in working hours, time management and ability to manage and prioritise workload.
Store support can vary in terms of days of the week / hours of the day, so flexibility in this regard is important.
We always try and plan ahead, but on occasion there may be short notice.
- Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
- An interest in cycling is important
- Home based in Italy - a location with good transport links would be very beneficial
