As part of this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for managing and implementing centralized ICT core services, setting up high-level information systems and computational servers, configuring and administering cloud infrastructure and applications, and ensuring the availability and stability of cloud production environments. YOUR TASKS Main Tasks:
Assists in managing and implementing centralized ICT core services (e.g. VMware, Docker, Ansible, Puppet, OpenShift infrastructures);Setups and develops high-level information systems and computational servers.Other tasks:
Configures and administers cloud infrastructure and applications.Define configuration management and deployment strategies for Cloud resources.Ensure availability and stability of cloud production environments.Develop and design software automation and scripts to orchestrate cloud and virtualization technologies with defined scope, schedule and expectations with a focus on Operations.Provides subject matter expert technical support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions and APIs with a focus on Operations.Design and implement DevSecOps capabilities (e.g. observability, continuous monitoring, tractability).Work with the development teams in resolving software and other related problems associated with the cloud deployment infrastructure and the code deployed onto platforms such as Database and/or Middleware.Manage day-to-day deployment and maintenance activities.Analyze and tune information systems performances.Security administration and monitoring, in adherence to the security rules imposed by the Commission's central security service (complemented by local rules where needed); under supervision of the LISO (Local Information Security Officer).YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Deep knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.Capacity to support in developing and designing software automation and scripts to orchestrate cloud and virtualization technologies with defined scope, schedule and expectations with a focus on Operations.Capacity to evaluate user needs and suggest efficient and coherent solutions.Capacity to contribute to the effective and efficient management of the existing infrastructure.Excellent knowledge of cloud environments in particular based on Linux OS;Ability to containerize common information system stacks, including Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, PHP, and Python-based information systems;Develop and design software automation and scripts to orchestrate cloud and virtualization technologies with defined scope, schedule and expectations with a focus on operations;Monitor, analyze and tune information systems performances;Problem solving attitude related to the cloud deployment infrastructure and the code deployed onto platforms such as Database and/or Middleware;Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in cloud environments and system administration;An in depth knowledge of Linux scripting, Ansible and Docker are a must.Soft skills requested: Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environmentAttitude to problem solving;Rapid self-starting capability, autonomous and accurate working style;Experience in working in team and excellent team player;Ability to understand, speak, and write English B1 and Italian C1 will be an advantage.EXTRA INFORMATION Work location: JRC – Ispra (Varese), ItalyOn-site 2/3 days per week – the other days you can work from homeCompetitive SalaryCorporate Benefits PackageThe competence level will be tested during interview.
