To collaborate on the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities for balance of plant and experimental facilities, focusing on design aspects related to pressure vessels, rotating machines, and machineries of steam/condensate cycle, utilities, and water treatment.
Main activitiesPerform mechanical engineering in all project phases.
Carry out feasibility studies, conceptual design, basic and front-end design, and detail engineering design.
Develop internal standards for rotating and static equipment.
Cooperate in the preparation of P&IDs, drawings, and documents for tendering.
Supervise the execution of assembly and fabrication drawings.
Prepare specifications and material requisitions for the supply of rotating and static equipment.
Technical evaluation and alignment of manufacturer bids for the supply of equipment.
Prepare and participate in pre-award meetings, kick-off meetings, pre-inspection meetings, and inspections for the supply of equipment.
Support equipment manufacturers by applying knowledge of design codes for high-pressure equipment, such as ASME and PED.
Ensure that the supply of deliverables and services is in accordance with the defined scope of work and delivery schedule.
Ensure that equipment manufacturers are delivering in accordance with the defined quality level and manage non-conformities.
Provide creative solutions in mechanical and equipment design, prepare and update mechanical engineering design manuals, general specifications, and standard equipment data sheets.
Set up work practices, processes, procedures, and instructions.
Contribute to the development of 3D models.
Participate in identifying breakthrough solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.

Desired qualificationsEducation: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Master's or PhD is a plus.
Languages: Fluent in Italian and English; French is a plus.
Experience / Professional requirements: 5 years' experience in mechanical design of static and rotating equipment, valves, and piping systems in industrial plants.
Experience in steam turbines is desirable.
Experience in power or nuclear balance of plant is a plus.
Knowledge of standards for pressure vessels and/or rotating equipment (ASME, PED).
Knowledge of project engineering cycle for development of feasibility, basic design, FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning, and start-up.
Good knowledge of design and analysis principles for large or complex systems.
Understanding of analytical techniques and relevant design codes.
Ability to participate in team meetings and give technical presentations.
