In this role, you will conduct field measurements for industrial air monitoring projects. This position requires daily visits to the main office in Carson, CA, to pick up equipment and company vehicles, but 90%-95% of your time will be spent in the field at refinery fence line sites primarily in Carson, Wilmington, El Segundo, and Long Beach. Once you arrive at the office, all drive time is part of the paid workday. The ideal candidate is passionate about using state-of-the-art environmental monitoring equipment to ensure the accurate collection of high-quality data & can also be flexible in adjusting daily work schedules to align with changing project needs. To be successful, you must understand mechanical and electrical systems, be skilled in using hand tools, and be eager to learn how to use various testing devices (all training provided). Environmental Field Technician Responsibilities • Conduct field measurements for industrial air monitoring projects
• Utilize sophisticated instruments to collect air quality and meteorological data
• Perform daily equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Analyze potential source for equipment failures (Example: software issue, modem offline, internet)
• Complete equipment installs, maintenance, and calibrations as needed
• Perform instrument audits
• Conduct data reviews to ensure quality control
• Work with scientists & clients to execute long and short-term environmental monitoring projects
• Safely utilize company vehicles for field visits
• Follow standard operating procedures and keep proper documentation
Environmental Field Technician Qualifications • A working knowledge & experience with mechanical and electrical systems is required
• Ability to visit local sites daily + occasional overnight trips outside the local area is required
• Proficient using MS Office (Teams, Calendar, Word & basic Excel) is required
• Participation in Saturday on-call rotation every 5 weeks is required (~2-5 calls, remote work only)
• Ability to pass initial and random drug tests (hair & urine), including THC is required
• Ability to lift 50lbs as needed is required
