Part-Time/Freelance Teaching Position ONLINE – British School Lugo/Faenza
The British School Lugo-Faenza is a professional and welcoming language school located between Ravenna and Bologna in Northern Italy.
We are currently recruiting a Part-time English teacher (on a contractual or freelance basis) for the period from 7 January 2025 to June 2025.
Most lessons will be held online. For this reason, we need to meet online to discuss the contract conditions.
The position involves teaching to students across all levels. Applicants must have an Italian Fiscal code and SPID (Sistema Pubblico di Identità Digitale - Authentication system that allows citizens and businesses to access government online services with a unique digital identity) or CIE (Carta Identità Elettronica) for signing lessons on the Futura platform. Many lessons will be conducted online via Zoom , allowing us to consider remote collaboration in certain cases.
As an authorized Cambridge Exam Centre , we provide teachers with opportunities to qualify as Oral Examiners and offer professional development through teacher training programs.
Job Details:
Start Date: 7 January 2025.
Key Responsibilities: Teach preparation courses for Cambridge exams (B1, B2, C1, C2).
Lead group lessons (maximum 15 students per class).
Participate in General English courses, as well as English for Children and Teenagers.
Most lessons take place from 4:00 PM to 9:40 PM, Monday to Friday , and Saturday mornings (9:00 AM to 1:00 PM) at the school premises. Some morning lessons are conducted in local State Schools (7:50 AM to 1:30 PM) or company settings.

The British School Lugo-Faenza is part of the British School of English Group, operating in Italy since 1950. The Lugo branch was founded in 1996, and the Faenza branch opened in 2016.
Current staff: 13 full-time/part-time teachers and six freelance teachers specializing in various languages (German, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and French).

Specific qualifications required for this role:
TESL/TEFL Certificate over 100 hours
Additional requirements for this role:
Qualifications: CELTA (or equivalent), Third-Level Degree.
Experience: At least 1–2 years of teaching experience, with references from the past two years.
Additional Skills: Knowledge of the Cambridge Main Suite and YLE exams is highly desirable.
IT Skills: Basic proficiency for managing online classes.
Driving Licence: At least 2 years of driving experience, as some lessons are held off-site.
Good Internet connection.
Good knowledge and ability to work with the Zoom and Google Meet platforms.
