Position Title:
Engineering Project Manager (temporary assignment 12 - 18 months)
Position Summary:
In consultation with Corporate management, you will be accountable for the entire projects scope, the project team and resources, the project budget, and the achievement of the project within deadlines and meeting cost targets.
You will also be responsible for the coordination and execution of specific project activities, applies technical leadership skills to successfully deliver the Capital projects assigned with benchmark capital cost, schedules and high quality products which meet their defined success criteria.
Acting as project matter expert is liable to provide engineering expertise and support at the strategic level for project's organization.
**Job Description**:
Tasks and responsibilities of the position:
- Coordinate execution of planned investments according to agreed budget, ensure its compliance with costs, times and quality of the supply agreed with the customer, providing timely reporting.- Follow all the steps of the project, interact with Procurement, Process and Engineering departments (process design, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) and act as the main interface in front of the customer, end user of the plant.- Organize and chair the meetings with the customer which you will lead step-by-step throughout the whole life of the project execution, and therefore up to its conclusion, including management of any complaints.- Verify any critical issues in the contract and the working progress by providing periodic updates to the Management.-
- Mechanical systems design and collaboration with engineering contractors.- Evaluate equipment and process solutions to remain competitive with costs improving production rates.- Ensure designs comply with safety and quality standards.- Ensure equipment is appropriately qualified and/or validated for intended use, works with Quality and Technical Groups to develop and execute protocols/procedures.- You will also lead a team of internal or external resources in the installation and startup of projects.- Regulary report on the progress of the project to the local and global management team (ongoing documentation on the status of the project and its preparation for presentation purposes to the local and global management team).- Installation & Startup Management.
You will act to assure:
- Front end with the client establishing a collaboration approach but assuring the respect of contractual duties.- Respect of the contractual milestones in coordination with engineering and procurement for the on-time availability of the project deliverables.- Efficient and effective organization of the resources assigned to the project.
Additional Details:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Master degree.- 3-5 years of specific experience as Project Manager in Engineering companies operating in the chemical industry.- Technical Project Management experience including troubleshooting and optimization.- Demonstrated expertise with Production processes and technologies.- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact with different cultures, agility, spirit of collaboration with colleagues, customers and suppliers.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.- Decision making approach.- Strong capability to manage stressful situations.- Strong capability in problem solving and negotiations.- Resourceful and self-motivated.- Fluent spoken and written knowledge of the Italian and English language.- Knowledge of the IT tools: MS Office, MS Project, ERP systems (i.e.
SAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to conduct risk analysis on the project and prepare reports detailing risk mitigation measures.
