Position Overview
The Engineering Manager – Dalbello Ski Boots is responsible for managing the engineering team and processes to develop and deliver seasonal ski boot products for the Dalbello brand within Elevate Outdoor Collective. This role reports to the Ski Boot Product Director and works closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Graphics, Sales, Operations, Innovation, and Product Line Management to ensure products meet industry-leading standards for quality, delivery, value, and innovation.
Responsibilities
Oversee design, development, testing, and quality validation for Dalbello ski boots. Ensure products meet market needs, safety standards, and exhibit high quality. Collaborate with factory to ensure products are industrialized and QC specs and tolerances are set to ensure successful manufacturing. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of tools and materials. Manage on-time development execution to ensure successful sample and mass-production delivery, tracking work completion against deadlines and taking corrective action as needed. Analyze product costing details and find solutions to reduce waste in materials and processes, increasing value to customers. Bring innovative product solutions to market to excite skiers and grow sales. Optimize processes and timelines for on-time delivery of products to market. Ensure optimal processes for the hand-off and storage of engineering files. Build and track Capital and Development expense budgets. Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate direct reports. Communicate the status and direction of the engineering team's work during executive and team strategic reviews. Support marketing and selling functions as required. Maintain a collaborative and strong working relationship with factories. Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience of managing engineering of technical footwear. Proven experience in product development and engineering management, preferably in the sports equipment industry. Experience on materials and manufacturing processes related to ski boots. Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong leadership and communication skills. Strong English written and verbal language skills. Ability to adapt to changing and challenging business environments. Proficiency in business and scheduling software. #J-18808-Ljbffr
