RINA is currently recruiting for a Energy Transition R&D Project Manager to join its office in Genova or Romewithin the Cyber Security and Management Consulting Division.MissionAs a Project Manager specializing in public and private-funded Research and Development (R&D) projects in the field of energy transition services, your primary role is to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of the projects.
You will be responsible for ensuring that projects align with contract requirements, are completed within budget and timeline constraints, and contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.Key Accountabilities1.
Project Planning:- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline the scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines of R&D projects.- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project requirements and success criteria.2.
Contract Compliance:- In case of projects funded by public entities, ensure strict adherence to the guidelines and requirements set forth by International and European funding agencies.- Monitor and report on project activities to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.3.
Resource Allocation:- Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to meet project goals.- Work with team members to optimize resource utilization throughout the project lifecycle.4.
Team Leadership:- Lead and motivate interdisciplinary project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.- Foster a positive and productive team culture that encourages innovation and problem-solving.5.
Stakeholder Management:- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including funding agencies, consortium partners, and internal management.- Address stakeholder concerns and provide regular project updates.6.
Risk Management:- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may impact project success.- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.7.
Budget Oversight:- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial control.- Track project expenses and maintain financial accountability.8.
Reporting and Documentation:- In case of public-funded projects, support R&D Financial Manager to prepare and submit regular progress reports to funding agencies, highlighting achievements, milestones, and challenges.- Maintain thorough project documentation, including meeting minutes, technical reports, and financial records.9.
Quality Assurance:- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the highest standards.- Conduct regular reviews to assess project progress and identify areas for improvement.EducationMaster's DegreeDoctorate/PHD in Engineering General or Energy EngineeringQualifications- Background knowledge in energy engineering, such as energy modelling or optimization of industrial processes, assets, buildings or communities, renewable energy sources, sustainable storage and distribution.
- Experience in project management, particularly in R&D settings.
- Specific experience managing projects funded by external sources, such as European Commission, national government, private foundations, or industry partnerships.
- Proficiency in budgeting for R&D projects, including creating budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Ability to identify and manage risks associated with R&D projects, especially those related to external funding requirements.
- Technical knowledge in the energy area, such as energy modelling or optimization of industrial processes, assets, buildings or communities, renewable energy sources, sustainable storage and distribution.
