Principali responsabilitàMain activities will be:
Develop optimization algorithm for EMS (that will be integrated in a cloud platform) and multi-agent systems and applied to different context, among them:
industrial plants, buildings, agriculture,
Develop and perform the optimization problem modelling based on well-known methods (e.g., MILP), to be solved with conventional tools (CBC, Gurobi etc),
Extend the work to stochastic optimization (i.e., optimization under uncertainty).
The integration of learning techniques (such as deep learning) is envisaged,
Verify and test the consistency of the developed parts,
Analyse the main characteristics of industrial energy systems by identifying opportunitiesto propose new solutions, research topics and upgrades,
Documentation, presentations, and reporting of results to higher levels.
Principali caratteristiche richiesteKey Requirements (Qualifications):
Strong engineering and knowledge of energy business (smart grids, ancillary services, automotive, renewables, storages),
Coding skills (Python, Julia, Matlab, etc.)
preferably with experience in object-oriented programming,
Hands-on experience building production optimisation models,
Knowledge of linear programming LP, mixed integer linear programming MILP, Non-linear programming NLP, genetic algorithms or stochastic optimisation would be highly appreciated,
Analytic mindset, aptitude for research, organizational skills and strong team spirit,
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision after an initial period of training,
Enthusiastic to work in a challenging environment with self-improvement opportunities,
English fluent.
