Job Description: We are seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Software Engineer to join our clients dynamic team in Milan. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing embedded software for our advanced medical devices. You will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, and industry experts to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for medical devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product designers, to integrate software and hardware components.Conduct software testing, debugging, and optimization to ensure high performance and reliability.Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.Contribute to the development of software documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in embedded software and medical device regulations, and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects.Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of software issues during development and after product release.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.2-3 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably within the medical device industry.Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and familiarity with embedded systems design.Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller programming.Knowledge of software development tools such as debuggers, emulators, and version control systems.Understanding of hardware-software integration and experience working with hardware engineers.Familiarity with regulatory standards for medical devices (e.g., IEC 62304) is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Good communication skills and proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.REQUIRED*** this is a freelance/contract role.
