As part of our dynamic execution team, you will bring this technology from concept to reality, collaborating with top engineers, getting advanced training at our R&D hub in Sweden, and leading its application at our customer's facility in Sicily.
About the Role As an Embedded Software Developer, you will be part of an engineering team based in Bologna and will initially collaborate with our R&D team in Sweden to gain in-depth knowledge of our solutions. Ultimately, you will be responsible for driving the execution of advanced material-handling robotic technologies in Sicily.
You will be working with embedded control system software and hardware that powers intelligent material flow systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation within a complex, high-tech production environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for test and configuration, providing the central development team with critical feedback, turning challenges into efficient, reliable mechatronic solutions.
Main responsibilities will include:
Assisting first-line support with analysis and troubleshooting in support cases Analysing and connecting the embedded controls system behaviour to software and hardware design and architecture to conduct in-depth system troubleshooting in cooperation with R&D Integration testing and data analysis using simulation and debugging tools on prototypes as well as the real system Producing a basis for / maintaining documentation What You Need to Be Successful Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent, and at least 3 years of relevant professional work experience Understanding of software development process and CI/CD pipelines e.g. Gitlab and test automation Meritorious if you have experience in Embedded C, Real-time OS, Embedded Linux and C++ or other embedded system development experience Experience from, or strong drive to, be in the field, working close to customer and taking a central role in system commissioning Experience in testing, troubleshooting and advanced configuration of embedded controls systems Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken High availability to travel Strong attention to detail and well-structured approach Interest in industrial production and desire to learn about new technologies Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively
