NAVIRIS is looking for a System Specialist for its Engineering Department, responsible for the technical management of the Electronic Warfare System (EWS) domain, mainly as part of the mid-life upgrade of the Italian and French Horizon Class frigates.

ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs EWS Manager, you will be responsible for technical exchanges with the major suppliers of the system for which you will be responsible, including monitoring the technical obligations of the specifications, reviewing documents produced (SSS, SSDD), interface documents (IRS, ICD), cross-cutting issues (EMC/EMI, Security, Cyber), physical integration (IGD), testing, and the cross-cutting security issues arising from this equipment (RadHaz).
We are looking for an experienced engineer who is familiar with particularly complex Combat Systems design issues, with proven knowledge in the field of CS subsystems (architecture, CSPI, integrated systems performance).
Within your area of responsibility, you will be involved in:
The proper technical execution of the contract with the system supplier and its proper functional and technical integration. You will take part in regular industry reviews.The production of NAVIRIS documents, subject to customer acceptance.The preparation and driving of technical reviews with customers, during which the supplier's design must be accepted.The analysis and evaluation of changes following the ECP process.The specifications, statement of work, and monitoring of the proper execution by the industrial partner concerned of the development, qualification, functional and physical integration, and safety studies for the systems.Controlling the configuration, carrying out and arbitrating technical reviews and major hold points with the various stakeholders (internal and external) at key milestones.Technical mastery, including the safety aspects of the systems integrated into the armed ship, and concern for the quality of the data produced, particularly the contractual deliverables to OCCAR, study deadlines, and constructive relations with the manufacturers in charge of systems development are essential elements and will constitute the KPIs of the post.
REQUIREMENTSProfessional English (speaking, writing, and reading). French is a plus.Master's degree in engineering with at least 10 years' experience as a System Engineer or Architect of Complex Systems. Experience in the Air-Surface Warfare field would be a plus.Successful experience in the technical management of subcontracts and co-contracts for specific studies in a complex multinational context (SoW, Specs, Acceptance). Contract management will mainly be carried out by business managers with whom the EWS Specialist will be in close interaction.Exemplary and professional attitude towards demanding customers and 'tier 1' subcontractors.Proven listening and leadership skills to ensure technical control of contributors to the successful development of the on-board integrated system.Ability to monitor, as main contractor, developments and tests at suppliers, integration platforms, and shipyards.Successful experience of working on the operational maintenance of combat ships would be a plus.
