**What you will do**
For our Building Solutions EHS department in Milan we are currently looking for an EHS Manager.
As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental health and safety programs, policies and procedures that assure that Johnson Controls site is in compliance with applicable local and national regulations and international safety Standards of the company.
Implement training programs to maintain compliance and to increase the overall level of health and safety awareness of employees at the company.
**How you will do it**:
- Develop and implement Operational Risk Management strategies that align with corporate objectives to reduce/mitigate operational risk
- Utilize key metrics to drive performance in ORM in every business
- Communication of EHS results to all levels within the organization
- Participate in the periodical EHS conference, quarterly webcasts, regional meetings, etc.
- Primary liaison to collaborate with Johnson Controls Legal and Communications Department regarding incidents that could jeopardize the integrity of the brands
- Keep abreast of applicable EHS legislation and practices that impact to the business
- Manage and interact with a diverse group of departments at local and corporate level
- Ensure that the technicians and subcontractors adhere to applicable Johnson Controls policies/procedures, processes, and operating principles
- Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary
- Coordinates and assists with the implementation of EHS continuous improvement principles into day-by-day operational basis
- Perform or manage safety training for the whole staff
- Implement Johnson Controls ORM Systems and Best Practices as designed
- Provide training to staff and employees to ensure that all recognize their contribution to improved ORM performance
- Ensure compliance with any EHS legislation
- Coordinate and attend any meetings and trainings on EHS topics
- Lead site safety council meetings and communicate safety metrics and status on the implementation of EHS programs
- Provide leadership and guidance to site management in the implementation of site safety teams
- Directs and oversees activities related to EHS Operational control, including staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning
- Develops and maintains new and current processes and tools to ensure compliance with all national and local EHS regulations and assists the technical department with these requirements
- Devise and implement the EHS annual Programs.
Ensure action items are developed and implemented for process improvement
- Meet corporate deadlines and completion targets
- Drive optimal EHS performance results
**What we look for**:
- Master/Bachelor's degree in Safety and Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent is preferred; Bachelor's level degree is required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in safety and environmental management is required
- Prior experience with Process Safety Management and Risk Management programs preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, European Regulations and Management Systems (i.e., OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Safety Management Systems)
- Continuous Improvement Principles and Practices
- Certification in Ergonomics, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Associate Safety professional (ASP) is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to partner and communicate with all levels of the organization (in English language preferably).
- Willingness to grow with the organization and commit to "doing what it takes" to attain aggressive organizational objectives
- Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment, problem solving and decision
- making skills
- Possibility to travel 30-40% of the time.
