The Powertrain Engine and EDU Launch team is responsible for delivering programs from VB through to Job1+90. This role will require the successful applicant to provide Powertrain Engine and EDU Launch support in the manufacturing environment - working to resolve design & quality related issues during the Launch phase ensuring delivery of flawless Engine and EDU launches.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Deliver Launch targets for Powertrain
* Support Plant meeting cadence and objectives for launch e.g. Start-up / OTG / High Hurts / LMMs / NMLRs / Wash-up / Escalation meetings / etc
* Work with the Programme and Module Teams to Co-ordinate the resolution of AIMs to achieve target
* Support Change Management activities in support of Launch objectives
* Support the supply of parts to meet Build Phase Material Required Dates
* Support analysis and resolution of engineering issues impacting Plant performance indicators e.g. FTT
* Support analysis and resolution of engineering issues that deviate from target e.g. PCPA, FEU, 5F
* Support raising and implementing Alerts, Rework Instructions and Containment Actions for any unit component, unit reworks and plant build containments
* Support the develop and monitor a continuous improvement plan for Engine and EDU launch
* Ensure that PSW for components are delivered in a timely manner
* Support Launch Spike avoidance tactics
* Act as the outward interface for Engines and EDU Engineering at key Launch & Plant meetings.
* Drive for correct decisions in a reactive environment
* Ensure Engines and EDU Engineering deliver on commitments
* Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Knowledge of Base Engine and EDU systems
* Clear understanding of Powertrain Vehicle or Unit Launch including experience of delivery of problem resolutions
* Awareness of WERS / AIMS / FMS
* Capable of presenting Engines and EDU Engineering status at working level meetings
* Able to communicate effectively to piers
* Capable of working in a reactive and pressurised environment
* Able to provide evidence to enable team to make robust decisions under pressure
* Capable of problem investigation and resolution. Understanding of Define Measure Analyse Implement Control Replicate processes
* Understanding of BOM validation
* Current Driving Licence
* Competent user of Microsoft applications
* Understanding of programme delivery and timing
* Highly driven, self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
* Microsoft package elements Power Point & Excel
* Experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety Audits and ergonomics including risk assessments
