In We Are Social we believe in people before platforms.
Our mission is to CONNECT PEOPLE AND BRANDS IN MEANINGFUL WAYS.
Let's put it this way: if We Are Social (WAS, for friends ) aims at enabling relationships, Editorial—within WAS—is in the business of building ?digital places? where those relationships can develop and be renewed over time.
We do that by always trying out new stuff, by reinventing old tropes, by constructing and deconstructing languages and habits.
We want to be in on the jokes.
One thing we like: people who ask "yes, but why?".
One thing we don't like: things that "have always been done this way".
We are the ones who use platforms, who tinker with them to get at how they actually work.
We have fun doing sh*t. Way more than trying to lecture others on how sh*t should be done.
We make mistakes.
Loads of them.
Nothing a Squidward meme or a quote from The Office (how normie of us ) won't make up for.
If you are looking for a place where you can "make things but also slides" (because after all it's slides we need to pitch what we want to do), if you are fascinated by the at times inexplicable ways in which this weird thing that is the internet works, if you are the one who "knows the meme" and waves hands trying to explain some super odd TikTok that ended up on your FYP, and if you would love to get paid while doing all of this (yes, this is a place where we talk money, frens), then we are probably looking for you.
**Purpose
Editors work within the editorial team and have direct responsibility for the definition and rollout of editorial content strategies (which are usually for brands' social media channels).
Assigned to multiple accounts, editors supervise the production of content and monitor—in partnership with other departments (you know how to read data, you don't need to be able to process it)—the effectiveness of the strategies they pitched and sold.
They also give out a helping hand when it comes to defining how creative ideas are turned into social media content and how they are distributed.
Editors also collaborate with creatives to come up with ideas for reactive content.
Some of their tasks:
- Definition of editorial strategies for clients and prospects
- Observation/study of specific communities
- Editorial plans checks
- Mentorship, assessment and training of writers
- Building a network of writers, contributors, freelancers
- Support in the execution of reactive content
- Performance analysis and definition of KPIs
- Slide making
- Presentation to clients
