SightLine Ventures is seeking a dynamic and driven DoD Innovation Strategist to join our team. This role is designed for a visionary individual with a deep understanding of both the technological landscape and the Department of Defense's (DoD) strategic priorities. The ideal candidate will spearhead initiatives with our clients to identify, strategize, pursue, and integrate cutting-edge technologies that can significantly enhance the operational capabilities and efficiency of the DoD. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, strategic planning, and a passion for driving innovation within the defense sector.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Innovation Management: Lead the development and implementation of innovation strategies that align with the DoD's mission and operational needs, ensuring the integration of emerging technologies into defense systems and processes.Dual-Use Technology Integration: Work closely with small businesses with dual-use/emerging technology across various industries, including AI, cybersecurity, digital engineering, space, unmanned systems, and other sectors to facilitate the integration of their innovative technologies into DoD operations.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders within the DoD, defense contractors, research institutions, and the venture capital community to foster collaboration and facilitate the adoption of innovative technologies.Capture Management: Lead our clients through the capture management process by identifying new business opportunities, developing and executing capture strategies, and coordinating cross-functional teams to secure contracts, ensuring alignment with the DoD's strategic objectives and operational needs.Team Collaboration: Facilitate knowledge sharing and the professional development of team members in areas such as DoD RFP processes, emerging technology trends, and project management methodologies.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration); Master's degree or higher preferred.Significant experience working within or in collaboration with the DoD, with a proven track record of managing innovation projects.Strong understanding of the venture capital ecosystem and its role in advancing technology.Expertise in capture management methodologies tailored to complex, technology-driven initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to navigate the regulatory and compliance landscape associated with DoD contracts and technology development.Training you will receive:Technology Scouting and Evaluation, Project Management for Business Development, Venture Capital's Influence in DoD Technological Advancements, Data Analysis and Decision Making, Understanding DoD RFP Processes and Compliance with Regulations, Collaboration and Networking Skills, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Communication Skills, Technology Ethics and Risk Assessment, and User-Centered Design and Human Factors.What We Offer:SightLine Ventures is committed to fostering a client-first culture centered on our core values. Compensation if hired at the end of Internship: $100K - $150K base salary plus commission opportunities.[NOTE: Because this is a SkillBridge Internship, it is understood that no single candidate will have equal expertise in all the areas of responsibility listed. Vets2PM Provides: Mentorship and guidance via weekly SkillBridge Intern Zoom Meetings.PM Fundamentals course, Resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, and interview skills course.Other free resources, including an electronic copy of 'How to Speak Civilian Fluently'.Other:Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
